On May 21, 1993, the camp of the Chinese peacekeeping force that was on duty in the town of Sikun was suddenly attacked by fire, and soldiers Chen Zhiguo and Yu Shili died on the spot, sacrificing their precious lives to the cause of peace in Cambodia and the friendship between China and Cambodia. Over the years, commemorative activities have been held every important node such as Qingming to commemorate their dedication and sacrifice.

At the scene of this hanging event, the atmosphere was solemn. All personnel observed a moment of silence and presented flower baskets to the martyrs' monument to express their deep remembrance and high respect for the martyrs. Ambassador Wang Wenbin said in his speech that the two martyrs, Chen Zhiguo and Yu Shili, are heroes who sacrificed themselves for world peace and China-Cambodia friendship, and their deeds and spirit will always be remembered in people's hearts, inspiring more people to devote themselves to the cause of maintaining peace and promoting friendship.

The friendly relations between China and Cambodia have a long history, and the actions of Chinese peacekeepers in Cambodia are a vivid embodiment of the friendship between the two countries. Over the years, China has actively participated in UN peacekeeping operations in Cambodia and made important contributions to peace, stability and development there. Ambassador Wang Wenbin's memorial event further demonstrates China's respect for peacekeeping martyrs, and also reflects the cherishing and inheritance of the traditional friendship between China and Cambodia.
